What you’ll do

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment and machining tools to produce precision components to spec.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to fabricate, prototype, modify, and rework parts, fixtures, and assemblies.
• Team up with engineers and production to troubleshoot, enhance processes, and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform meticulous inspections and measurements to ensure quality and compliance.
• Uphold safety, organization, and equipment readiness through routine maintenance and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in machining/fabrication with hands-on CNC programming experience.
• Training as a machining technician, machine operator, or lathe operator (required).
• Advanced blueprint reading capability; strong literacy and math skills.
• Experience using dial indicators, micrometers, and gauges.

Environment and physical demands

• Frequent walking, reaching, and the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regular climbing of stairs, steps, and ladders; comfortable working on elevated platforms and overhead when needed.
• Occasional lifting/moving up to 40 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close/distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled areas and, as required, in inclement weather.

• CNC Swiss Lathe (Star, Citizen, Tsugami, Index, Eurotech, Tornos, Ganesh, Nomura, Yama-Seiki, Hanwha)
• CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC) (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Matsuura, Mikron, Dmg Mori Seiki, Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Hwachon, Kitamura)
• CNC Lathe (5+ axis) (Mazak, Dmg Mori Seiki, Okuma, Samsung, Doosan, Nakamura, Index, Eurotech, Hwachon, Miyano)

Location and compensation

Location: Sacramento, CA

Starting hourly rate: $23.40–$31.66. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
